Jivot User Agreement

By accessing or using Jivot, including our website jivot.io and other Jivot-branded services, you agree to the terms of this User Agreement. We encourage you to read it carefully to ensure you understand your rights and obligations.

User Eligibility

You must reside in the United States and be at least 16 years old to use Jivot. However, where applicable law requires you to be older to use Jivot without parental consent, you must be at least that old.

By using Jivot, you agree that you meet these residency and age requirements.

Members and Visitors

When you register to join Jivot, you become a “Member,” gaining access to a range of tools and features for building your professional brand and developing your career.

You agree you will have no more than one Jivot account, which must be in your real name. You are not permitted to create an account with false information or on behalf of someone else.

You further agree you will not attempt to rejoin Jivot with a new account if yours has been suspended or terminated under this agreement.

If you choose not to register, you can still access certain features as a “Visitor.”

Member Responsibilities

As a Member, you are an account holder. You agree to protect against wrongful access to your account (e.g. by using a strong password and keeping it confidential).

You agree not to share or transfer your account or any part of it to others. You are responsible for any activity that occurs through your account unless you close it or report misuse by following the support link on the site or emailing us at support@jivot.io.

User Conduct

All users must maintain a professional standard of conduct while using Jivot. This includes providing accurate and truthful information about your professional background and related experiences (e.g., work experience, education, and achievements).

Activities such as posting abusive or illegal content, using the site for unauthorized commercial purposes, misrepresenting your identity or professional experiences, or disrupting Jivot’s operations are strictly prohibited.

Intellectual Property

Jivot owns all rights to the website’s design, functionality, analytics, and proprietary content. Your original content (with the exception of "Feedback") remains yours, and by using our site, you grant us the right to use it for delivering services.

Beta Feedback

As a beta service, Jivot provides the opportunity to submit Feedback through support requests, enhancement requests, issue reports, surveys, or other means. By accepting these terms, you agree that Jivot may contact you via email, web questionnaires, and other mechanisms.

You also agree that any Feedback you provide will become the property of Jivot, and Jivot may use or exploit your feedback in any manner or media without further remuneration, compensation, or credit.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to agree to these terms and assign the described rights, and that your Feedback is original work made solely by you and does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

Privacy and Data Use

Your privacy is a priority. We collect and utilize data to improve your experience and deliver services, as detailed in our Privacy Policy. By using Jivot, you consent to these practices, including the use of cookies.

Beta Service Terms

Jivot is currently a beta service which is a phase of testing. This means there may be service interruptions or errors, and features may change. The beta can be terminated at any point, and Jivot has no obligation to continue offering services beyond this phase.

Termination of Accounts

Jivot reserves the right to terminate or suspend Member accounts for violating these terms of service, or that we believe threaten user safety or service delivery.

Liability and Disclaimers

JIVOT MAKES NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY ABOUT THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ANY REPRESENTATION THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. WE PROVIDE THE SERVICES (INCLUDING CONTENT AND INFORMATION) ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, JIVOT DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED OR STATUTORY WARRANTY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF TITLE, ACCURACY OF DATA, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW (AND UNLESS JIVOT HAS ENTERED INTO A SEPARATE WRITTEN AGREEMENT THAT OVERRIDES THESE TERMS), JIVOT WILL NOT BE LIABLE IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS FOR LOST PROFITS OR LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, DAMAGE TO REPUTATION (E.G., OFFENSIVE OR DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS), LOSS OF DATA (E.G., DOWNTIME OR LOSS, USE OF, OR CHANGES TO, YOUR INFORMATION OR CONTENT), OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

Governing Law

You and Jivot agree that the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States shall govern any dispute relating to these Terms and/or the Services.

You and Jivot both agree that all claims and disputes can be litigated only in the federal or state courts in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States, and you and Jivot each agree to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
